The Build

The short version: we made these for our own feet first, which made us the pickiest customers we'll ever have.

It took many rounds of samples to get here. We kept adjusting the cuff tension, the toe, the footbed, and the stretch until they felt right.

We work directly with the mill that knits ours, chose the yarn and the wash bag maker ourselves, and have a hand in quality control. This is what goes into each pair.

All six Everyday Crew colors laid flat in a row: Egret, Parchment, and Caribou, then Glacier White, Sleet Grey, and Caviar Black

The yarn

We start with Brazilian-grown cotton, combed before it's spun. Combing pulls out the short, loose fibers, which are the first to pill and scratch, and leaves the longer, stronger ones. The yarn comes out smoother and lasts longer in the wash, and the finished knit is brushed for a softer surface.

Cotton makes up most of each sock, and the rest has a job: polyester helps it hold its shape, nylon adds strength so it lasts through regular wear, and rubber and spandex give it stretch that springs back. The exact blend is in the specs below.

The knit

Each sock is knit on a 144-needle machine with 3-ply yarn. More needles make a finer, tighter knit, and three plies twisted together make a fuller, more even yarn than a single strand. You feel it as a sock with some substance that still sits flat under a shoe.

Underfoot, the sole switches to half-terry: small loops that cushion where your foot takes the most pressure, without thickening the whole sock. The cotton breathes in the heat, and those loops add a little warmth underfoot when it's cold. The toe is seamless, so nothing presses across your toes.

The cuff

The cuff is a close rib with elastic worked into the knit, which is what keeps it up through the day.

Our name is knit into the inside of the cuff in a contrasting yarn, where you'll see it when you pull them on and nobody else will. It won't peel or come loose, and there's no sewn-in tag or logo on the outside.
